How to join SSRC
Who Can Join
We are a Veteran based club, however you do not need to be a Veteran to join. We do seek a majority of Veteran's as members, but we primarily focus on finding people who care deeply about Veteran issues. Usually these are Veterans themselves, but not always. If you are willing to volunteer your time to help Veterans in our area, then we're interested in meeting you.
Start the Process
Here's how to start the process of joining the Severed Souls RC;
Come ride with us. That's it. That's how it starts.
We're easy to find in North West Indiana. We're one of the largest, if not the largest, RC's in our area. We post our Events, Bike Nights, Rides, etc. here on this site and on our Facebook page. That makes it easy to meet patched Members.
Approach a patched Member and strike up a conversation. If things click, you'll be asked to ride with us. From there, if you're showing up and being seen you might be offered the opportunity to "hang around".
Hang Around: A person who has shown initiative to get to know our members and club. As a hang around you will be invited to our monthly meetings. You will get an idea of how we operate. You won't have access to privileged club business as a hang around, but you will get an idea of what we do and how we do it.
There are no dues as a hang around.
The next step is Prospecting.
Prospect: Prospecting is the next step in joining our club. As a hang around, if and when we feel it's right, you will be asked if you would like to move to the next phase which is Prospecting.
If you decide to take this step, you will be assigned a Sponsor. This Member will take you under their wing and help you to learn our history, protocol (based on MC culture), and guide you through the process.
It can take 6 months to a year. Don't be offended if you don't get a vote right at 6 months. It takes time and commitment from you to take that next step. When we feel it's time, we will hold a vote to make you a Prospect (or not).
As a Prospect you will pay dues every month just like a patched member, but 1/2 the amount.
Patched Member: After you Prospect and we feel you're a good fit, and you feel we're a good fit for you, the club will decide to hold a vote to make you a full patched Member. Not everyone makes it. Membership is not guaranteed. It depends 100% on you and how you conduct yourself during the Prospecting phase.
As a patched Member, you will have to pay monthly dues which will be twice that of a Prospect.
We only patch men. We do have a special support patch specifically for our Memerbers' wives.
